Screen Printing
When you print your business, club or team shirts with Ambrose you’ll get a great deal, a quality hand printed product and a pat on the back for helping creative students explore life in the applied arts. Although we have the process down on our end we broke it down into six simple steps to make it easy for you. If you have any questions just contact us using the info to the right.
1. Pick your shirt
There’s a mind blowing number of styles and colors to choose from. You can order t-shirts, hoodies, longsleeve shirts, pants and jackets. Pricing varies depending on the garment. Although brand choice is easy if cost is your bottom line, we want you to know the implications of your purchase. Two websites worth noting: Workers Rights Consortium or Clean Clothes Campaign are great resources to check before you buy because with your dollars you’re either supporting or ending oppression in the garment industry. Be informed. Garments that are produced fairly tend to be more expensive than those that aren’t. We suggest Alternative Apparel, American Apparel but also offer a wide variety of others. Need help deciding? We’re just a phone call away.
2. Pick your design colors
We can print up to four colors on your shirts. Printing price depends on the number of colors. See graph below for base pricing. Custom Colors: If you need a specific Pantone color we can match it. Custom mixes are $15 per color.
3. Figure out quantity
Two easy questions: How many shirts do you want and what sizes do you need? Additional cost for XXL & 3XL.
4. Calculate your price
The graph below shows our base pricing for one design with dimensions 14”w x 15”h printed with darker ink on a lighter garment. Add 25¢ per color for dark garments. For other inquiries (larger prints or quantities) call us at (616) 594-0773 for pricing.
5. Finalize the artwork
We can use a design you’ve given us or make something from scratch. Touch-ups are included in the prices above. If you need a lot of ideas from scratch, we bill for artwork at $25 per hour, with the average charge of $25-$50. To avoid artwork fees send us print ready artwork in the correct size. It should be at least 300dpi or in vector format. Fonts: If you are sending artwork with an unusual font, make sure to either send us the font with the file, rasterize the font (for bitmaps), or outline it (for vectors).
6. Pick up (or Delivery) and enjoy!
Once your shirts are done (10 business days) you can either pick them up or have them delivered in the Holland area for $5. We’ve also shipped shirts all over the states. If purchasing for a school, business or other organization we can invoice your institution. Individuals must pay by either cash or check before receiving items.
